NEWBURY PARK, Calif.—Opto Diode Corporation, a global supplier of advanced performance photodiodes and visible and infrared (IR) light-emitting diodes (LEDs), recently introduced two new high-output LEDs—the OD-469L High Output Blue LED and the OD-624L High Output Red LED.
The OD-469L High Output Blue LED offers a narrow beam angle and is suited for fluorescence in medical, scientific testing instruments, and forensic applications. It is available in a hermetically-sealed TO-5 can with three leads. According to the manufacturer, the electro-optical characteristics at 25 degrees C deliver total power output ranging from 80 mW (minimum) to 170 mW (typical). Dominant emission wavelength is from 465nm to 475nm, with typical operation at 470nm.
The OD-624L High Output Red LED has a dominant emission wavelength at 624nm (typical) and a narrow beam angle, like the OD-469L, suited for fluorescence in medical, scientific testing instruments, and forensic applications. Also like the OD-469L, the new Red LED delivers total power output ranging from a minimum of 80 mW to 170 mW (typical). For both the OD-469L High Output Blue LED and the OD-624L High Output Red LED, the lead soldering temperature (1/16 inch from the case for 10 seconds) is 260 degrees C, permitting easy installation into new or existing lighting systems.
Opto Diode (www.optodiode.com) is based in Newbury Park, California. The company’s domestic U.S. manufacturing plant includes a wafer fab and is said to ensure “delivery of volume quantities at competitive prices with short lead times.”
