SANTA ANA, Calif.—Optical component manufacturer Precision Glass & Optics (PG&O) recently announced that it is offering precision optics (standard and customized) for military and defense applications. The Santa Ana, Calif.-based company, a provider of optical manufacturing services for 25 years, specializes in precision, in-house manufacturing of plano optical components, from prisms to windows; as well as beam splitters, light pipes, optical mirrors, and reflectors. Precision Glass & Optics also offers advanced thin film coatings and fabrication of optical components for commercial applications.
According to PG&O, it can quickly provide a variety of glass and thin-film coated optical materials in square, rectangular, or circular parts. The company can customize optics to exact specifications or ship them from in-stock items within a 48-hour turnaround for time-critical projects.
Precision Glass & Optics (www.pgo.com) combines an extensive materials inventory with a full optical fabrication shop, three large coating chambers, and an in-house engineering staff. Fabrication services offered by PG&O include abrasive water jet technology, laser engraving, annealing, CNC machining, and drilling, as well as double-sided grinding and polishing, diamond bandsawing, slicing, and scribing. The company says that in addition to military and defense applications, its precision optics and advanced thin film coatings are also suited for use in aerospace, biomedical, solar, imaging, laser manufacturing, and digital cinema applications.
