MINEOLA, N.Y.—The Kohara Gear trademark KHK has been synonymous with stock metric gears for more than 80 years. But change is in the air: Recognizing the fact that 80 percent of the gears consumed in the United States are inch pitch, KHK USA recently announced the availability of diametral pitch spur gears that are reported to have the same quality, performance, and cost as the company’s traditional stock metric gears.
