HATFIELD, Pa.—Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI)  recently announced that it has promoted Chris Mecleary, of Macungie, Pennsylvania, to business development manager. In this position, he is responsible for establishing and developing relationships with new and existing customers in the areas of material testing, nondestructive testing, and calibration.

Mecleary was hired as an inside sales representative in October 2014, and had actively managed many of LTI’s larger account relationships for the past three years. He also worked closely with the company’s new business team, as an inside liaison for new customers. He is experienced with account set up, quoting, and coordinating, expediting, and tracking orders that have been sent to LTI for processing.

Mecleary is a Penn State University graduate, where he attended the Smeal College of Business and earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in business law. He is also Lean 1 certified through the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center.

Prior to joining Laboratory Testing Inc., Mecleary worked as a marketing analyst for the Mueller Industries division of Precision Tool Company. He went on to become the northeast territory district sales manager for Mueller and its divisions, including Precision Tube Company, Mueller Impacts, Mueller Forgings, and Micro Gauge. In this capacity, he worked with customers in numerous business sectors, including non-ferrous metals, aerospace, nuclear, medical, and automotive.

As business development manager, Mecleary will continue to be a part of the sales / customer service department at LTI.

“This department is very capable of servicing customers of all sizes, in a variety of industries and with a wide range of service needs,” said Mike Hiller, director of sales and customer service at LTI, in a statement. “We are set up for fast response and processing, whether it’s answering questions about services, preparing quotes, establishing a new account, or overseeing an order in production. This group of customer service reps, account managers and new business managers is the central point of contact at the Lab.”

The laboratory specializes in metal testing, but also analyzes powdered metals, ores, ferroalloys, polymers, composites, and ceramics. Services offered by LTI include mechanical testing, metallurgical testing, chemical analysis, corrosion testing, nondestructive testing, specimen machining, failure analysis, dimensional inspection, and calibration.
