STONINGTON, Conn.—Acme Wire Products Co., Inc., a provider of custom steel and stainless-steel wire fabrications, has earned certification to the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standard.
The company said in a press release that the quality system will allow it to better serve customers through the well-defined and documented processes that the certification requires. The certification ensures a more productive environment through faster identification and resolution of quality issues, among many other benefits.
“We partnered with DNV-GL, an accredited quality management systems certification body, to achieve our certification,” said Michael Planeta, vice president of manufacturing at Acme Wire Products, in the release. “While Acme Wire has always produced quality parts, the certification process helped us formalize our roles and responsibilities and documentation procedures. We are excited to earn this certification and feel it provides additional assurance to our customers that we are focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.”
The ISO standard includes a focus on continuous improvement, which helps ensure a more integrated global focus on initiatives with a specific focus on improving Acme Wire’s OEM and end-user customer experience. The new standard emphasizes value for both the company and customers. Leadership and management commitment are also areas of increased focus in the new ISO standard. Expanding Acme Wire Products’ focus in these areas helps ensure accountability at all levels of the organization and facilitates the transition of top-level goals into tactical action plans, the company said.
