REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—Citrine Informatics was recently recognized as the Best AI-Powered Big Data Platform by the 2019 Tech Ascension Awards.

The technological innovation behind the Citrine Platform is reported to dramatically reduce the time and cost of materials and chemicals development. It does so by combining materials-specific data handling and storage, scalable computing for AI and data processing, and modular, composable AI units optimized to predict materials behavior.

“The Citrine AI Platform represents a unique, cutting-edge use case for AI,” said David Campbell, CEO, Tech Ascension Awards, in a news release. “The Citrine platform is the only AI technology designed to handle the advanced complexities of materials and chemicals—complexities that general-purpose AI platforms simply cannot handle as effectively or efficiently.”

The Tech Ascension Awards recognized the best innovations in big data for 2019. In the inaugural year of the awards, more than 50 cutting-edge companies submitted and only a handful were selected.

“Our team is proud to be recognized as an artificial intelligence leader by the technology industry,” said Greg Mulholland, CEO, Citrine Informatics, in the release. “Our platform customers are creating a new generation of green, efficient, performant materials and chemicals faster than ever before. Our mission is to push the industry forward and to continue to enable sustainable innovation across one of the largest and most important industries globally.”

The awards judged applicants based on technology innovation and uniqueness, market research (analyst reports, media coverage, customer case studies), hard performance stats, and competitive differentiators. The class-leading vendors that received recognition from the Tech Ascension Awards proved their technology solves critical industry challenges and produces invaluable business outcomes for their customers.

Citrine Informatics (www.citrine.io), headquartered in Redwood City, California, said on its website that its mission is “to foster a materials data ecosystem that accelerates breakthroughs in development and manufacturing, enabling a more efficient, sustainable world.”  The company’s platform is said to have enabled new materials product lines and helped large organizations, including chemicals and product companies, hit overall R&D milestones in 50 to 70 percent less time than originally forecast.
