NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y.—Keystone Electronics Corp. has released a new series of low profile, SMT and THM (surface mount technology and through-hole mount) battery holders for 20700 and 21700 lithium-ion batteries. Keystone Electronics released the new holders to meet increased demands for higher energy, light weight, rechargeable batteries for new generations of electronic products, the company said in a release.
Ruggedly built and durable, the compact holders feature low profile, heat-resistant UL 94 V-0 rated nylon housings with stainless steel contacts that are tin-nickel plated. They are said to be well-suited for use in high-energy portable medical devices, smokeless vaporizers, and consumer and industrial electronic products.
The holders are said to feature a versatile design that accommodates lead-free solder and traditional reflow processes. They will accept 20700 or 21700 batteries from all major manufacturers, according to Keystone.
The holders are available in single- and dual-cell configurations for THM and SMT applications. They are marked to show polarity to ensure correct battery installation and are designed so that battery installation or removal does not require tools.
