OAKWOOD, Ga.—A new universal adapter from Mencom shows excellent resistance to mechanical stresses and corrosion and meets the needs of industrial data transmission applications, the company said in a release. Mencom recently rolled out its Universal RJ45 Adapter for its MIXO Series, a modular insert series designed to allow different types of connections housed in a single traditional rectangular enclosure.
Mencom is a U.S. manufacturer of industrial electrical connectors and is also the North American Master Distributor of ILME rectangular connectors.
Each insert is designed to fit and lock into a frame that ranges in size from 1 module to 12 modules in a single enclosure, allowing for numerous combinations. Each enclosure can house signal, power, data, and pneumatic contacts for the conduction of compressed air with pressure values of up to 8 bars, the manufacturer said in the release.
The adapters are reported to be well-suited for industrial data transmission applications, a key for manufacturers who are transitioning to smart factories. Mencom said that ILME, the Milan-based manufacturer of industrial connectors, has several types of MIXO RJ45 adapters to meet the needs of industrial data transmission.
The new MIXO RJ45 adapter (CX-01-J8UM) module is designed to accommodate a variety of RJ45 patch cords and is said to drastically reduce assembly time at the manufacturing site. The new RJ45 adapter is fitted for any RJ45 cord plugs with the maximum dimensions of 34 mm (L) by 13.5 mm (W) by 9.5 mm (H). End users can simply place the patch cord into the adapter and secure it by the insulating latch, the company said in the release.
Mencom (www.mencom.com) reported that the MIXO Universal RJ45 Adapter is extremely resistant to mechanical stresses (vibrations, shock, and cable loads) and corrosion (it’s gas-tight) to provide secure and stable connections. The adapters are UL 94-V0 approved and feature built-in self-extinguishing thermoplastic material reinforced with glass fiber.
The MIXO series frames can be used in housings ranging from standard classic to aggressive environments, high temperature, IP68, and more, the company said.
