Electronic Precision Specialties Inc. (elecprec.com) has been a master of plating in Brea, California since 1980, plating today what is a wide range of metals, including gold plating, silver, nickel, tin, copper, rhodium, electroless nickel plating, tin-lead plating, and palladium-nickel plating. EPSI provides premium electro plating to a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, defense, electronics, medical, and telecommunications.

EPSI’s core values include innovation, consistency, dependability, teamwork, integrity, passion, and family. “We take pride in hiring and training the best team in our industry, which includes a full-time equipment maintenance staff and on-site lab technicians who monitor chemistry and component quality,” EPSI said on its website.

“Gold Plating is typically yellow in color and can range from matte to a bright reflective finish. We work with 24k pure gold and alloy gold that ranges between 14k and 23k. Applications range from jewelry and electronics to medical implants and aircraft components. Gold plating provides excellent corrosion and tarnish resistance. Contact resistance is low and solderability is very good,” EPSI said when describing its plating materials. “Copper plating is generally used as an under-plate prior to subsequent metal finishes. It provides a good foundation for corrosion resistance, solderability and is used as a diffusion barrier. Copper Plating is also used for carburizing and as a heat treatment stop off. Deposits range from matte to full bright.”

EPSI’s Brea facility is located 11 miles from the City of Industry and 27 miles east of Los Angeles. It has been solving plating issues in southern California for more than 40 years.

“We strive to be the best, and we are happy to entertain even the most difficult projects for our customers. Innovation has kept our doors open for 40 years and we are still excited to discover new alternatives for old problems,” EPSI said. It was founded in 1980 and will be 42 in 2022. “If our usual plating processes will not meet your needs, we will design, create, and test custom systems to complete your project.”

To ensure each customer receives the highest quality, “With state of the art equipment in our quality and chemistry labs, you can be assured that EPSI will provide a quality product that will exceed your expectations,” EPSI said. “We provide certificates of compliance and test reports with each order as proof of adherence to all applicable standards and specifications. SPC data is available for all testing or chemistry utilized during the process of customer orders.”

All processes are compliant with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS), Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), and End of Life Vehicle (ELV) initiatives, EPSI said. EPSI is Nadcap certified, which was formerly NADCAP, the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program, and is now Nadcap, which is a global cooperative accreditation program for aerospace engineering, defense and related industries.
