LOS ANGELES—Metal 3D printing company 3DEO took home a TCT Consumer Product Application Award for its work in producing “The Era,” a 3D printed production razor manufactured for Blackland Razors. 3DEO was recognized for its work at the TCT Awards ceremony in Birmingham, UK, on June 8, the company said in a release.
3DEO, which uses its patented metal 3D printing technology to manufacture precision metal components in high volumes, was one of 67 finalist across 11 categories. The company’s metal 3D printing process is reported to include more than 20 issued or pending patents in 3D printing, robotics, software, and automation.
“It’s an honor to have been selected as the 2022 Consumer Product winner, surrounded by our fellow 3D printing leaders this year,” said 3DEO President and Co-founder Matt Sand, in the release. “While we are immersed in the innovative capabilities that 3D printing brings to the manufacturing space, we are starting to see a ‘tipping point’ of adoption, and The TCT Group is leading the charge by showcasing best-in-industry wins.”
The TCT Awards are produced by The TCT Group in conjunction with TCT 3Sixty, an additive manufacturing show held in the UK. TCT 3Sixty focuses on raising awareness and adoption of 3D printing while highlighting real-world applications and technology on the show floor.
3DEO said it offers a “consultative approach to problem-solving and design” that has earned it “the ability to uniquely address the complex challenges many of today’s engineers face in the product development arena.” The company launched its new Saffron platform earlier this year, along with its patented printing technology, Intelligent Layering®. Customers of 3DEO are reported to include companies in the consumer products, industrial machinery and equipment, medical device, surgical robotics, and aerospace and defense industries.
