ATLANTA—Phoenix Stamping Group, a division of PHX Holdings, has opened a manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, according to a release from PHX Holdings.

Phoenix Stamping Group, the largest division of PHX Holdings, is a 36-year old metal stamping and fabrication business that provides sheet metal and rod products, primarily to the material handling, towable trailer, truck aftermarket, transportation, and agricultural equipment markets. The family-owned business currently has more than 275 employees and has grown its sales five-fold over the past 10 years, according to the release.

PHX Holdings said the opening of the Fort Worth plant will facilitate additional growth opportunities for Phoenix Stamping Group and the entire PHX family. The strategic location of the facility will support Phoenix’s large customer base in Texas and the West Coast, the company said.

The 80,000-square-foot facility, integrated as Plant 05 of Phoenix Stamping Group, will provide added capacity and redundancy in metal stampings, fabrication, tool and die design, and kitting and assembly. Shod Neely, hired in August 2022 as plant manager, will support the continued buildout and capacity ramp-up.

According to PHX Holdings, Phoenix Stamping Group was founded by Bill Chapman in 1986. Chapman’s son, Brandyn, headed Phoenix Stamping Group from 2005 until 2022, when he transitioned to CEO of PHX Holdings and Chris Woods assumed the responsibility of President of Phoenix Stamping Group, the company said. Phoenix has been successful through principled leadership; sales-driven growth focused on specific markets and customers; and formal planning and execution processes, supported by current, integrated systems and implementation of lean principles. PHX said it plans to support the growth of Plant 05 by bringing its resources, processes, and systems to bear, including Brandyn’s personal commitment and involvement.

PHX Holdings is an entity that owns Phoenix Stamping Group, GTC Machining, and PartWorks. All of the PHX companies are owned by a partnership between Brandyn Chapman and Covey Equity, a Columbus, Georgia-based investor group focused primarily on small-to-midsized manufacturing companies. PHX Holdings is based in Atlanta and has additional facilities in Indianapolis; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Charlotte, North Carolina.
