PUTNAM, Conn.—Foster Corporation’s Distribution business, a provider of materials for the critical application healthcare market segment, reported that it has been appointed as a marketing partner for Röhm’s CYROLITE®, CYROLITE® MD, and XT® polymer portfolio of advanced medical acrylic-based polymers for the North American healthcare market.

Foster Distribution will provide sales, technical support, and order fulfillment support from its U.S. locations in Connecticut and Nevada, Foster Corporation said in a release.

According to the release, Röhm’s medical grade CYROLITE is a durable line of acrylic based technologies for the medical material segment and has been in production for more than 50 years. Over its history, the Röhm portfolio has been a “reliable and trustworthy resource for applications where transparency, toughness, chemical resistance (alcohol and lipid resistance), gamma/EtO sterilization, and processability are key specification criteria,” Foster said in the release. In addition, every product in Röhm’s extensive healthcare product portfolio is reported to be bio tested to USP Class VI and ISO 10993.

“CYROLITE products have been a mainstay material in the medical device industry for many years,” said Foster Distribution President Larry Johnson, in the release. “Its (Cyrolite’s) clarity is unsurpassed, and balanced property matrix makes it a go-to material for many medical device applications that require high-performance at a value-based price point. We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Röhm into our partnership family. Their product line has more than proven itself over the years and they know the medical industry and its needs and strive to meet those needs.”

“We’re excited to partner with the Foster team, which will provide improved distribution of Röhm’s CYROLITE brand to our customers in key medical application segments,” said Thomas Hemler, global segment director, medical molding compounds, Röhm, in the release. “Our CYROLITE product applications range from blood and IV filter housings, fluid connectors, IVD and microfluidic chips, to orthopedic trays and combination devices for medical device disposables, diagnostics, drug delivery, respiratory and anesthesiology, and medical packaging.”
