RONKONKOMA, N.Y.—Qosina, a global supplier of OEM single-use components to the medical and bioprocess industries, recently completed construction of its new ISO Class 8 cleanroom. The 1700-square-foot cleanroom supports the expansion of Qosina’s pick-and-pack process. It also allows the company to increase capacity and reduce lead times for customers, the company said in a release.
Qosina said it worked diligently, during design and construction of the cleanroom, to develop novel shipping techniques for its medical and bioprocessing components. The cleanroom has 10 workstations designated for the company’s scale counting and repacking process.
“Our new cleanroom was built to accommodate the increased growth of our business, further showcasing our commitment to meet our customers’ most critical component requirements,” said Qosina President and CEO Scott Herskovitz, in the release. “This cleanroom further validates that Qosina is an important part of the supply chain for medical device and bioprocess system manufacturing. We want our customers to have the confidence and peace of mind that components manufactured in a cleanroom are always opened and repacked in a similar environment.”
The company’s philosophy is to address its customers’ need to reduce time to market by providing thousands of stock components. Its catalog is said to feature more than 5,000 products, shown in full-scale illustrations on a one-centimeter grid.
Qosina said it offers free samples of most items, low minimum order requirements, just-in-time delivery, modification of existing molds, and new product design and development. The company operates in a 95,000 square-foot facility and holds certifications to ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ISO 22301, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
