The company’s expanded headquarters and manufacturing space support rapid deployment of power systems products for data centers, renewables, and critical infrastructure markets.
HANOVER, Md.—PwrQ, a manufacturer of end-to-end power systems products for data centers and other critical infrastructure facilities, recently expanded its headquarters and manufacturing operations in Hanover, the company said in a release.
By expanding to 220,000 square feet of manufacturing space, PwrQ is scaling production of its core power distribution products most commonly used in critical electrical topologies. The company is leveraging advanced rapid-assembly lines and custom fabrication capabilities to build products addressing the growing power demands of data centers, renewable energy sites, and other high-stakes critical infrastructure, according to the release.
The expansion will also create 160 new positions in the Maryland area over the next five years, the company said.
“At PwrQ, we focus on tackling the toughest power challenges with smart, integrated solutions that keep projects moving quickly and reliably, reducing downtime and delivering immediate value,” said Osman Ashai, CEO of PwrQ, in the release.
PwrQ said it brings together decades of industry veteran expertise to address urgent power challenges across the entire power systems chain, from design and engineering to manufacturing, deployment, and service. The company’s growing product portfolio spans low voltage switchboards, power distribution units, remote power panels, panelboards, automatic transfer switches, and busway tap boxes, all of which are designed and manufactured in-house, with speed and precision.
“By managing every stage of the process—from engineering and assembly to installation and ongoing maintenance—PwrQ significantly reduces lead times, enabling data centers and other critical infrastructure projects to come online 67 percent faster,” the release stated.
The PwrQ Systems team provides field service support and solutions, from modernization projects and complex automation upgrades to rapid response, onsite service support. This end-to-end approach helps hyperscalers avoid unplanned facility downtime, which can average $260,000 per hour, the company said.
“As the number of companies in the Mid-Atlantic continues to grow, so does the need for increased power supply infrastructure and managed data centers,” said Maryland Commerce Acting Secretary Harry Coker, in the release. “PwrQ’s expanded space in Anne Arundel County will help the company continue serving a variety of industries and keep critical systems running throughout the country.”
“By moving in partnership across the public and private sectors, Maryland continues to cultivate our epicenter of innovation, manufacturing, technology, and growth,” said Maryland Governor Wes Moore, in a statement. “We are proud to support PwrQ as they write this next chapter, which will bring new jobs and new opportunities to Maryland. Together, we will continue to sharpen our competitiveness and grow our economy.”
