The company installed a new high-capacity production line for clients in need of large-scale vacuum metalizing and painting on closures.
EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass.—Mueller Coatings (formerly Mueller Corporation), a provider of high-quality decorative vacuum metallizing and coatings, recently added a fully automated vacuum metallizing system featuring Marca Technologies’ Revolution-3D Metallizer and four Fanuc robots, the company said in a release.
The addition is said to mark a significant expansion in production capacity. The investment was made to support Mueller’s ongoing partnership with Tricorbraun and Tito’s Handmade Vodka, where the new system will take over production of Tito’s signature copper caps.
As a result, the previous production line—reported to be capable of coating 50,000,000-plus parts annually—is now becoming available for new high-volume projects.
“Our new automated system significantly increases efficiency, allowing us to serve additional high-volume clients in need of premium decorative coatings,” said Mueller Coatings President and CEO Glenn Mueller, in the release. “We’ve built the new line to support our continued work with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and that unlocks a tremendous opportunity for other partners to take advantage of our freed-up capacity.”
Mueller Coatings said it is seeking new partnerships to fill this soon-to-be-available production line. The company’s expertise includes vacuum metallizing, UV coatings, and advanced finishing solutions. It specializes in enhancing closures, caps, containers, and specialty packaging components across luxury packaging, cosmetics, spirits, and consumer goods.
“Having collaborated with top-tier brands like L’Oréal and Estée Lauder, Mueller Coatings works closely with packaging manufacturers, distributors, and brand owners to deliver premium decorative coatings,” the release stated.
The Marca Technologies Revolution-3D Metallizer uses DC magnetron sputtering in a vacuum environment to apply high-quality, durable metallic finishes. The system features a main vacuum chamber, process chamber with magnetrons, and precision-controlled vacuum pump systems, ensuring uniform metal deposition for premium aesthetics and performance.
“With full automation and the integration of four Fanuc robots, this new system increases production efficiency while enhancing environmental sustainability,” the release stated.
Founded in 1955, Mueller Coatings, founded in 1955, is a family-owned provider of vacuum metalizing and spray coatings, specializing in EMI, RFI, and ESD shielding. The company serves industries such as aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, and consumer electronics.
