SAN CARLOS, Calif.—Global component manufacturer PENCOM recently announced its strategic acquisition of Integrated Defense Products (IDP), a Texas-based machining specialist known for its precision, efficiency, and quality.
The acquisition represents a major step in PENCOM’s continued growth and its commitment to delivering advanced component solutions across a multitude of industries, the company said in a release.
Integrated Defense Products, located in Rockwall, Texas, brings extensive expertise to the partnership. An ISO9100-certified company and a BATF Class 7 FFL manufacturer, IDP is known for providing high-quality CNC milling, turning, EDM, and assembly, as well as around-the-clock service five days a week. The company serves key industries that include aerospace, defense, aviation, medical, and communications, and it is equipped to handle a wide range of materials, from aluminum and steel to plastics, brass, titanium, and more, the release stated.

PENCOM said its existing global manufacturing footprint is further strengthened by the acquisition. PENCOM operates world-class production facilities, including manufacturing centers in Nogales, Mexico and Dongguan, China, and offers rapid prototyping capabilities from its Fort Mill, South Carolina location.
“These facilities allow PENCOM to deliver fast, high-quality component production and tailored solutions to clients across industries such as automotive, aviation, clean energy, and medical,” the release stated.
Founded in 1982, PENCOM operates as a one-stop shop for component manufacturing, offering standard and custom parts, assemblies, and inventory management. The acquisition of IDP enhances PENCOM’s capabilities, particularly in precision machining and manufacturing, the company said in the release.
“Both PENCOM and IDP share a commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction,” the release stated. “The acquisition will enable the combined company to better meet the evolving demands of OEM design engineers, delivering comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.
Integrated Defense Products (PENCOM-Rockwall) is a 21,300 square-foot precision CNC milling and turning facility designed to support high-precision manufacturing needs. Led by a management team with decades of experience, the modern facility specializes in communications, aerospace, and defense components, as well as supplying numerous other industries such as energy, electronics, and medical. Its advanced 4th and 5th axis machining capabilities are said to ensure “exceptional quality and performance in every part produced.”
PENCOM-Rockwall’s location in Rockwall, Texas, provides a centralized position in the United States that enables efficient and cost-effective shipping across the country, as well as Canada and Mexico. The facility’s position within a hub of industrial activity also ensures access to a robust network of suppliers and complementary services, such as surface treatments, coatings, and logistics support, the release stated.
