Through its engineering-driven approach to electronics manufacturing, SVTronics tailors its processes and services to meet the unique demands of each application.
PLANO, Texas—SVTronics (SVT), a U.S.-based electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider headquartered in Plano, specializes in high-complexity, high-reliability PCB assembly and turnkey manufacturing. The company’s facilities in the United States and India support a wide range of industries, from aerospace and defense, to medical, industrial automation, and IoT.
According to SVTronics Vice President of Sales Chris Dickey, the company offers expertise in products that include consumer electronics, medical devices, industrial and mobile computing products, communications interfaces, and embedded controllers.
“We produce a wide variety of assemblies for the semiconductor industry, such as EVM’s, ATE Boards, PIB’s, HTOL, HAST, bench boards, lab boards, burn-in boards, and characterizations boards, just to name a few,” Dickey said in an emailed response to Design-2-Part.
As a provider of electronics manufacturing services, SVT leverages high-tech surface mount technology (SMT) capabilities through automated SMT assembly lines that deliver precise, high-speed assembly. The lines support component sizes down to 01005 (0402 metric), providing precision placement and reflow of ultra-miniature passive components using high-accuracy vision systems and modern placement equipment. They also provide fine pitch component placement, supporting pitch down to 0.3mm and sub-3 mil (0.003 inch) trace/space design rules, Dickey said.
The company’s advanced SMT capabilities enable it to provide Package-on-Package (PoP) assembly, an integrated circuit packaging method that involves vertical stacking of logic and memory components with precise x/y/z alignment, using split vision pick-and-place and controlled reflow profiles.
With this method, designed for applications like mobile, avionics, and high-density embedded platforms, SVT provides PoP underfill to protect the electronics, as well as X-ray validation. SVTronics also provides “full in-line 3D Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) and automated optical inspection (AOI) at micron-level resolution to ensure process repeatability and quality assurance at ultra-fine geometries,” according to Dickey.
Dickey said the company’s manufacturing operations are certified to AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 quality management system requirements, ensuring compliance to aerospace, medical, and defense standards. They are also conducted in a “secure ITAR/ controlled environment, safeguarding sensitive defense and aerospace projects,” he added.
But although SVT’s high-tech manufacturing capabilities are impressive, the company places great emphasis on how its team members handle each customer’s project.
“At SVTronics, we take a customer-centric, engineering-driven approach to electronics manufacturing,” Dickey said. “Our processes and services are tailored to meet the unique performance, reliability, and compliance demands of each application—whether aerospace, medical, industrial, or High-Reliability products. For each customer, we dedicate a program manager who is their advocate within SVTronics for daily meetings, RFQ’s, issues to be addressed, PO processing, and ECN’s.”
