The acquisition is reported to further expand StenTech’s capabilities in precision tooling, CNC machining, and complex part manufacturing.
CLEVELAND & DALLAS—StenTech, an Align Capital Partners (ACP) portfolio company and a prominent provider of surface mount technology (SMT) printing products, reported in April that it enhanced its North American footprint by acquiring Pentagon EMS.
The acquisition of Pentagon EMS, headquartered near Portland, Oregon, expands StenTech’s capabilities in precision tooling, CNC machining, and complex part manufacturing. In doing so, it enables improved process control and production efficiency in increasingly demanding assembly environments, StenTech said in a release.
The acquisition is reported to reinforce StenTech’s position as a complete partner in precision manufacturing supporting next-generation electronics, aerospace, defense, and other high-reliability applications.
“StenTech customers benefit from improved design-to-production alignment, greater supply chain resilience, and localized manufacturing to reduce lead times and operational risk,” the release stated.
Under the StenTech umbrella, Pentagon will retain its brand, product expertise, and customer relationships while benefitting from the scale and resources of the broader platform.
“For Pentagon, this expands our ability to deliver engineering-driven solutions at scale,” said Rey Sosa, president of Pentagon EMS, in the release. “Together, we can better support customers with more integrated solutions that directly impact yield, reliability, and overall production performance.”
In addition to providing SMT stencils, StenTech delivers precision tooling and parts. Its Parts Division serves multiple industries beyond electronics, including aerospace, automotive, and medical devices. By combining engineering expertise, advanced processes, and quick turnaround times, StenTech aims to “set the industry benchmark for quality, reliability, and supply chain stability,” the release stated.
“This acquisition is about advancing engineering capability and process performance,” said Kevin Keene, CEO of StenTech, in the release. “By combining Pentagon’s tooling and fixture expertise, with our precision manufacturing platform, we are helping customers improve control, consistency, and throughput across their operations.”
StenTech will continue to evaluate strategic add-ons with a focus on manufacturers of precision thin-metal components that serve high-reliability end-markets, the release stated.
